PROPOSED CONTRACT ADDENDUM

Transmitting a Communication dated May 15, 2000 from

THOMAS J. GLASER, Chief Financial Officer, Bureau of Finance

On November 17, 1998, the Board approved the Purchasing Agent to enter into a contract with International Business Machines (IBM) for the purchase and implementation of software and hardware for a new integrated Financial Management Information System (FMIS) in the amount not to exceed $19,800,000. The IBM Contract #99-43-264 was issued in the amount of $16,037,405. I am requesting authorization for the Purchasing Agent to increase the IBM contract by $2,500,000 to provide agreed upon additional technical support, training and hardware and software. The requested increase does not exceed the original amount authorized by the Board. The expenses will be paid from the 15000 account.

Estimated Fiscal Impact: $2,500,000.00. Bond Issue (15000 Account).

Sufficient funds have been appropriated to cover this request.

Commissioner Daley, seconded by Commissioner Lechowicz, moved to suspend the rules so that this matter may be considered. The motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner Quigley, seconded by Commissioner Moran, moved that the County Purchasing Agent be authorized to increase the requested contract. The motion carried unanimously.
