Commissioner Steele, seconded by Commissioner Garcia, moved that the Report of the Committee on Human Relations be approved and adopted. 

Commissioner Gorman, seconded by Commissioner Schneider, moved to separate Communication No. 318660 - A Substitute Ordinance Amendment Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing by Extending Source of Income Protection to Housing Choice Voucher Holders from the text of the Report of the Committee on Human Relations dated July 24, 2012.  President Preckwinkle called for a Roll Call, the votes of yeas and nays being as follows:

FROM THE REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE ON HUMAN RELATIONS

Yeas: Commissioners Butler, Daley, Fritchey, Gainer, Garcia, Gorman, Goslin, Moore, Murphy, Reyes, Schneider, Silvestri, Sims, Steele and Suffredin - 15.

Nays: None - 0.

Absent: Commissioners Collins and Tobolski - 2.

The motion to separate Communication No. 318660 from the Report of the Committee on Human Relations was APPROVED.

Following discussion, Commissioner Garcia, seconded by Commissioner Suffredin, moved to that Communication No. 318660 - A Substitute Ordinance Amendment Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing by Extending Source of Income Protection to Housing Choice Voucher Holders, be approved and adopted.  President Preckwinkle called for a Roll Call, the vote of yeas and nays being as follows:

The motion carried and Substitute Ordinance Amendment was APPROVED and ADOPTED.

Returning to the main motion, Commissioner Steele, seconded by Commissioner Garcia, moved that the Report of the Committee on Human Relations be approved and adopted.  President Preckwinkle called for a Roll Call, the vote of yeas and nays being as follows:

The motion carried and Report of the Committee on Human Relations was APPROVED and ADOPTED.

Having voted on the prevailing side, Commissioner Garcia, seconded by Commissioner Suffredin, moved to reconsider the question by which the Report of the Committee on Human Relations was previously approved.  Commissioner Garcia moved for leave to consider a reverse Roll Call, leave as granted and the vote of yeas and nays being as follows:

Yeas: Commissioners Daley, Gorman, Goslin, Murphy, Schneider and Silvestri - 6.
